We are inviting neighbors and artists of every faith background, as well as non-religious people, to join us in an art exhibit that explores the meaning of Grace. Please join us by submitting your artwork to the exhibition.
Grace is a word with a number of meanings, but as used by Christians it means “the gift of forgiveness, healing and/or salvation.” In other words, we are made whole without having done anything to earn it ourselves.
Many people have their own ideas of what Grace means to them. Please share your interpretation of where you have experienced Grace. We’d like to see ideas from everyone.
We are asking every artist and every person who has experienced the feelings of peace, gratitude, and serenity in some form to show us how or where they find those feelings in their lives. Professional, amateur, adult or child, all are welcome to share.
All art forms are welcome – visual art, performance art, writing, or whatever art form best expresses your experience and thoughts. Please include a paragraph explaining how or where you found Grace and how that relates to your piece.
Deadline for submissions: Friday, September, 13, 2013. Please contact Mark Hill at firstname.lastname@example.org to submit a piece or with any questions.
Art Show: Friday, September 27 to Sunday, October 6, 2013, at
Our Saviour’s Atonement Lutheran Church, 178 Bennett Ave. @ 189th Street, one block west of Broadway.
Grace is the first in the series of Creations Art Shows at OSA.
