A while ago, I did some continuing ed at a writing workshop, funded and hosted by the Collegeville Institute. Here’s something that came out of it, that was published yesterday on the Metro Chicago Synod’s online theological forum called Let’s Talk: http://mcsletstalk.org/multicultural-church/bodies-worlds-coates-francis. It’s about racism, the environment, and the Gospel of Mark.
This Sunday is Palm Sunday, and it marks the beginning of Holy Week. I’m so excited for Easter this year. We have Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services at 7:30 p.m and on Saturday, we have planned wonderful Easter Vigil at 5:30 p.m.
But we need all hands on deck. There’s a lot to do to get ready, from polishing the brass to figuring out how to make a great Easter Commotion during the vigil, preparing the baptismal oils, reading, leading, and so on. For instance for Easter Vigil, we need three assisting ministers!
So, I’m asking for your help. E-mail the office (firstname.lastname@example.org) or sign up on Sunday for a role. This will be a great Easter—I’m looking forward to celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus with all of you.
