A quick reminder: Thursday night’s BBQ Bible story is "Everything That Rises Must Converge”. This is our penultimate BBQ Book Club—next week we will finish by reading “Revelations” and “Parker’s Back.” It’s been a good series so far—but strap on your safety belts, because you know Flannery O’Connor will take you on a wild ride.
I’m also excited to tell you about our Catechumenate Training Event Weekend, September 16th-18th. If you were involved with Wayfarers last year, you know that it was an exciting process, but also that we can improve it. If you weren’t involved but wanted to be, this is your chance to learn about the catechumenate—which is an old church word for faith formation. This even is a great way for you to get involved with the process, which we will begin again in October. Please let me know if you are interested.
A word of warning about our texts this Sunday. They are scary. They are dark. There is blood, swords, anger, and all kinds of things. It will seem like a turbulent, martial series of readings. But there is a lot of good news in it—I hope you come to hear it!
