He is coming. He is on his way. And time seems to be accelerating—Christ is coming soon.
This week we are ending our service with “People Look East,” a spirited Advent hymn that bids people to make merry and decorate their homes and hearts for Jesus. I think that’s a beautiful idea—especially because Jesus wants us to decorate ourselves with mercy, grace, forgiveness, justice, and peace. Decorate yourselves therefore with those things, and decorate your homes with those things.
Here are some important notices:
I have an update on Karin Reynold’s memorial service: it will be held here at OSA on January 11th. The time is TBD, but please mark that day on your calendars.
Also, our kids will be performing the Christmas Pageant during worship this Sunday and a special coffee hour upstairs in the Cornerstone Studios.
I will be away this Sunday to fulfill some duties as Dean. I need to preach and preside at Transfiguration Lutheran Church in Harlem, which is without a pastor and facing some difficulties.
See you soon!
