This is Holy Week! If you haven’t yet been invited, let me invite you: come to the feast this year. We feast on God’s love, poured out for us through his Son, Jesus Christ. He gives his life so we can have life.
When things are bleak, when the world is too much with us, when hope fades and despair gains strength, when you are weary and worn, come to the table where the feast of life is spread: Christ’s table. Come, Christ invites you!
The feast starts on Maundy Thursday at 7:30 pm, with foot washing and Holy Communion. It continues on Good Friday at 7:30 pm with the reading of the Passion and prayers around the cross. And we welcome our Wayfarers as members of OSA on Easter Vigil, also starting at 7:30 pm.
After the Easter Vigil we’ll have a champagne and strawberry hour instead of a coffee hour.
And because this is a feast, and all are welcome to the feast, the feast doesn’t stop with dessert. We keep going Sunday morning, with our Easter Sunday Celebration and Easter Brunch.
You are welcome to bring food to share at the Champagne and Strawberry Hour or the Easter Brunch. But more than food, you are welcome to share whatever is in your heart. That’s the real invitation.
Come to the Lord’s Table, where the feast of life is spread!
The Reverend John Flack
