It’s going to be a full weekend for us. On Friday, we’re holding another Pub Theology at Inwood Local, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Who knows what we will be talking about! It’ll be good, though.
Speaking of weekend plans, make this Sunday evening part of your plan! Please consider coming to our community dinner/potluck at 6:30, and staying for our Climate March PREP Rally at 7:30 p.m. (If you haven’t signed up for the bus, go to this url: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/get-on-the-bus-nyc-lutherans-march-for-the-climate-tickets-32210746209). The prep rally will give details about the march and some folks will be sharing stories about why working to stop climate change is important. And, since this is OSA, there is going to be some great music, too.
Speaking of music, our dinner church musicians, Lisa Holsberg, David Degge, and Ben Dumbauld have been rocking it. Plus, Ethan Mejia and Aaron Beck have done great work on the shruti box. There’s one more dinner church left, and if you haven’t been able to make it yet, this is the one.
Speaking of worship, if you’re interested in helping to plan Holy Week (Maundy Thursday is just two weeks away!) and Easter Services, please come to the church office this Saturday at 10 a.m. We’re having a little convening to plan our Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday services. Planning worship is a lot of fun, and especially at the high point of our liturgical year, when we celebrate the day of our Lord’s Resurrection.
Speaking of life and death, this week we hear the story of the raising of Lazarus from the dead. It’s a rich story, and it is the story of all of us. We live, we love, we are loved, we die. And then we are raised with love stronger than death. It’s an amazing story to hear and think about, so I hope to see you this Sunday.
