It’s another super busy weekend at OSA. Please forgive the tardiness of this e-mail, but I had to confirm a pretty big and exciting announcement, which is...
…thanks to a generous donor, on Sunday, October 8th, we’re having a Capital Campaign FLASH MATCH! What’s a FLASH MATCH? Well, we have received a bonus challenge match of $1000 towards our capital campaign. In other words, if you give to the capital campaign at offering on Sunday, October 8th, every dollar you give will be matched by this donor, until $1000 (cumulative) is reached. Now, if you think about it, if you give $50, that will be $100. But! Since we also have a matching grant from the Synod, that $100 is matched 1:1, so that means your $50 is actually $200! If this were WNYC, you’d hear some funky baritone sax music and a lot of perky hosts.
But here’s the real news. We are almost at the end of this campaign. We’ve worked really hard to get to our $50,000 goal. We are almost there, and we are almost ready to start our work. This is a push to get us through the finish line. So please, have your checks ready for the 8th, and hopefully we can even blow past that $1000 goal.
And please, don’t forget all the places that need our help much more than Our Saviour’s Atonement. Don’t forget to give to Hurricane Relief, either through the Red Cross or through our denomination’s Disaster Relief arm, Lutheran Disaster Response. Go to elca.org and click the link.
I also want to highlight these events:
Tonight is Pub Theology—our topic, whom do I forgive? Or, if you’d rather talk about something else, bring that! 7:30 at Inwood Local.
Tomorrow, Saturday, is a garden weeding work day, from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Bring your friends and your kids—we’re going devastate some weeds!
Wednesday, Oct 4th, 4-6 p.m.: St. Francis of Assisi Day Blessing of the Animals. I’ll have a children’s book about St. Francis that I’ll be reading at 4:30 in the garden, too. Bring your pets to be blessed at any time between 4 and 6 p.m.
See you soon!
